schoology product roadmap

our product development is based on collaboration with our users, the market, and our mission, which drives our planning and delivery of solutions that provide great value for our customers and internal teams. the schoology product team is responsible for working with key stakeholders to define what we develop, why we should be developing it, and how our users will experience our innovations. that’s why we maintain a public product roadmap that you can follow to see the current status of our development initiatives: community input is very important in all stages of this process.

the feature ideas submitted through the schoology help center are reviewed by the community team, a group of schoology experts who work closely with support and education impact consultants. the community team meets regularly with the product team to advocate for ideas that align with current initiatives on our roadmap, as well as the ideas that are consistently at the top of the forum. when the community suggests an idea, it is evaluated to see if it can fit within existing priorities.

we are excited to announce that we’ve decided to make our roadmap public. the important part of that here is continually advance—we’re all about constantly improving our product, and by sharing our plans for the future, we hope you can feel confident that using schoology in your classrooms everyday will only continue to give you and your students an advantage in the learning process. a lot of the features on our roadmap were generated from feedback from community members—whether in discussions with your account manager, from ideas you submit to the schoology helpdesk, in face to face meetings at next, or in discussions in our feature ideas forum. we want you to know that your voices are being heard, and that they play an important role in informing our vision for the future. we’re publishing our roadmap so that you can easily find what we’ve recently released, what we are currently working on, and what we’re planning on doing next. the roadmap is a snapshot of what schoology is working on and what we plan to roll out in the next 3-6 months. once this process is complete, you’ll see it move to in development.

this is when our engineering team starts to build and test the feature. in short, expect our roadmap to change. this means that we work in increments, constantly iterating and improving our product, and most importantly, responding to change. we feel that everything we put on our roadmap is important, but at the end of the day, we need to decide the order in which to build each item. second, this approach allows us to incorporate community feedback into our development process. thirdly, it allows us to be adaptive, and to re-prioritize as our users respond to what we’ve built and as your needs change. think of our roadmap as a snapshot of what we are planning to do at a given point in time—but like everything else in life, it must adapt over time.
