with the portfolio roadmap, you can visualize the timing of your releases and see how those releases drive the success of your key strategic initiatives across your aha! note: this article refers to releases and features. depending on your workspace type, you may see “schedules” and “activities” in your workspace. if you would like to enable it, you can do so by customizing your menu navigation. it will automatically populate with information for the workspace or parent line you are currently working in. use the hierarchy filter at the top of your portfolio roadmap to add in other workspaces and parent lines. this will present a view of your releases for the workspaces you have selected. if you have not created any initiatives, the releases will be organized in a single swimlane called releases. at the parent line level, you will see various colored circles across the roadmap.
if you have set strategic initiatives for your workspace and they roll up to line-level initiatives, the circles will be organized to show how the releases at the workspace level are impacting the line-level initiatives. as you manipulate a release, the dates will shift on the portfolio roadmap. if you choose status, the bar color will be based on the status colors defined for your workspace in settings ⚙️ → account → statuses and workflows. use the timeline menu to focus your roadmap on the right date range. you can also choose to select a custom date range. when you save and share a portfolio roadmap externally, the date range in the view you share will be what you selected in the timeline menu. when you save and share a portfolio roadmap with other aha! users in your account, they will initially see the date range you selected. with your portfolio roadmap completed, share it with your stakeholders by selecting one of the export options under the share button on the top-right of the screen.
for about a year and mostly focus at the product level, we need to be able to look across all products to give executive management a better idea where our resources are being spent. do you use to do this? it is great that you are eager to look at the big picture across products. you will want to start with strategy: make sure that you have defined goals and initiatives at the product line or company level, so you are rolling up to a unified strategy and ensuring that the company is in sync about its direction. then you will want to create a portfolio roadmap with your company or product line and the products nested below it. you will be able to view each product’s strategic initiatives and releases in swim lanes, and how these map up to product line initiatives. outside of the portfolio roadmap, you can also create custom roadmap views. you can use the reports -> pivot view to generate a summarized pivot report of your data, and then save and share it with your team.
